Overview
Engineering entrepreneurship Minor is aimed at students who are keen to become entrepreneurs and innovators. Students will use their creativity, problem-solving and technical skills, and learn best practices. This includes fundamental aspects of entrepreneurship such as idea creation, market validation, company structuring and intellectual property, technology assessment and development, investment and financial management and go-to-market business models along with developing pitching skills in acquiring resources and capabilities critical to the success of their ventures. Experienced entrepreneurs and faculty will guide students through the process of testing and validating value propositions with potential customers and end-users, and developing their ideas into working prototypes and potentially minimum viable products (MVP). It is intended as a pathway to start-up creation and driving innovation in existing companies (Intrapreneurship).
Availability
The Engineering entrepreneurship minor is only available for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), except those completing the Biomedical Engineering specialisation, the Chemical Engineering specialisation or the Software engineering specialisation.
