Overview
Global Studies is a multidisciplinary area of study that primarily draws on concepts, theories and methods from history, international relations, politics and law to examine two key interrelated themes – global interconnections and global governance. This area of study explores first, the international and transnational relations in politics, economics and other areas that connect states, regions and communities across the world, and second the structures of governance that emerge to manage these interconnections at local, national, and regional levels. A key focus is how struggles over globalisation involving state and non-state actors shape political order, rights and justice, inclusions and exclusions, as well as sustainable development across the world.
