Overview

The Executive Master of Public Administration is designed to assist future leaders develop the management and policy skills needed in today’s public sector. Developed in consultation with public sector CEOs across Australia and New Zealand, this course aims to produce world-class public sector managers. The course offers high-potential and aspiring leaders a thorough grounding in the theory and practice of public administration. The course draws on case studies and practical exercise with interactive teaching methods, delivered by leading academics and guest speakers with extensive government experience.

The course comprises of 72 credit points structured in four parts. Part A. Core studies, Part B. Additional core studies, Part C. Work-based research studies and Part D. Elective studies.

Part A. Core studies, Part B. Additional core studies and Part C. Work-based research studies

You will explore the core principles required to deliver public value, developing an invaluable skillset centred around public policy design and delivery, evidence-based decision-making, leading change and organisational management and strategic public financial and economic management.

Part D. elective studies

Will enable you to select from across a range of areas including: global politics; international relations and development; politics and the environment, planning and sustainability; politics, policy and governance; and security, law, justice and human rights.

Upon successful completion of this course it is expected that you will be able to:

Entry requirements

English language

Monash Level A, that is: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or Pearson Test of English (Academic): score of 58 overall with no band lower than 50; or TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or Equivalent approved English test

Graduate Certificate of Public Policy - students must have successfully completed ACL5012 Delivering public value and been approved by ANSZOG.
