Course structure

Business component96 credit points
You must complete 96 credit points, including all of the requirements in Part A, Part B, and Part C for the Bachelor of Business.

If you are completing the Accounting major as part of your double degree, please note ECX2953 is required for professional accreditation and can be completed in Part A instead of ECF1100, and you will not be required to complete ECF1200.
International Relations component96 credit points
You must complete 96 credit points, including all of the requirements in Part A and Part B, for the Bachelor of International Relations.

Business

B2000 Bachelor of Business is a comprehensive course, structured in four parts. In the double degree you complete:

Part A. Core studies

This will provide you with a study of marketing and the impact they have on decision making in organisations.

Part B. Major studies

These studies will develop your capacity as a critical and creative professional who is able to apply your knowledge of marketing to provide discipline-based solutions for business. Units contained within the discipline may meet the requirements for professional accreditation bodies.

Part C. Capstone studies

The capstone unit will consolidate your knowledge and skills acquired through the study of your discipline and provide experience in multi-disciplinary processes and decision making.

International Relations

The Bachelor of International Relations is structured in four parts. In the double degree course you complete:

Part A. Core studies

These units will introduce key concepts and knowledge generated by the discipline of International Relations that provides frameworks for understanding and analysing the ways in which power and politics shape the international system, and to address the challenges that they ultimately generate.

Part B. Discipline studies

These units will enable you to develop further specialist knowledge that will support you to engage in specific areas including: i) Peace, conflict and security; ii) Policy and governance; iii) Comparative politics; iv) Development, rights and gender; and v) Climate futures.

Course progression map

You must complete 192 credit points, of which 96 credit points are from the Bachelor of Business (including all the requirements in Part A, B and Part C for the single degree) and 96 credit points from the Bachelor of International Business (including all the requirements in Part A and B for the single degree).

You can enrich your degree to hone your academic and professional skills with a range of Flagship Rich Educational Experiences (FREE), including the Research, Experimentation and Discovery, Monash Innovation Guarantee, Global Immersion Guarantee and Volunteering. These flagship rich educational experience units may be credited in place of your replacement units if approved by the faculty. There are both 6 and 12 credit point unit options available.

If you are enrolled in a double degree it may be possible to use 6 credit points from each degree to do the Global Immersion Guarantee (12 credit points). For information on eligible double degree combinations please see Global Immersion Guarantee.

Business component (96 credit point)

You must complete 96 credit points, including all of the requirements in Part A,  Part B, and Part C  for the Bachelor of Business.

You will complete one major from Bachelor of Business. Where you have space in your degree you may complete a second major with no more than two units contributing towards both of your chosen majors or towards both a major and the specialisation
