In this online course you will be introduced to the fundamental principles and tools in analytics, and gain key skills required to use data to make informed business decisions. As part of this graduate certificate, you will complete units in python programming, data science and statistical data modelling.
This course is perfect if you are wanting to upskill and develop a deeper understanding of data-backed decision making. You will be introduced to analytics skills at an advanced graduate level, with an opportunity to continue into the Master’s degree if you want to proceed with further study.

The course comprises four units where you be introduced to analytic principles and skills at an advanced graduate level.

You must complete the following three units (18 points):
- ETO5510 Introduction to data analysis
- ITO4133 Introduction to Python
- MAT9004 Mathematical foundations for data science and AI
and one additional unit from the following list:
- ITO5197 - Statistical Data Modelling
- ETO5513 - Collaborative and reproducible practices
- ETO5922 - Data visualisation and analytics
- ACO5160 - Introduction to accounting analytics
- ACO5170 - Predictive analytics in business

Entry requirements
English language
Monash Level A, that is: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or Pearson Test of English (Academic): score of 58 overall with no band lower than 50; or TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or Equivalent approved English test

Progression to further studies
Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate of Analytics will be eligible for admission at entry point 2 into the Master of Analytics (B6028).
Successful completion of this course may also provide a pathway to a graduate diploma or master's course in the Faculty of Business and Economics subject to satisfying the appropriate entry requirements.
