With completion possible in less than a year, the Professional Certificate of Project Management may be the catalyst you need to upskill and deepen your knowledge and practice skills to launch your career in this dynamic field.
You’ll complete two units, where you will develop an understanding of best practice principles and techniques of delivering projects using different methods, processes and knowledge frameworks. You will also explore techniques to manage projects, including people, stakeholders, communications, culture and politics.
This course will introduce you to project management studies at a graduate level, and is perfect if your previous qualification is not in a related field or you want to consolidate your practical experience into a formal qualification. In addition, you’ll be studying master’s level units, which will count towards a Graduate Certificate, Diploma or Master’s level qualification should you want to expand your knowledge further in the future. The online delivery of the program means you can also fit study around your busy work and family commitments.

This course comprises two units where you will develop an understanding of the principles and techniques of delivering projects using different methods, processes and knowledge frameworks. You will explore the techniques to manage the project context, including people, stakeholders, communications, culture, and politics.
These studies will also introduce you to project management studies at a graduate level. They are intended for students whose previous qualification is not in a cognate field, and builds on existing professional work experience.
The course comprises 12 credit points.
You must complete two units from the following (12 credit points):
- OPO5900 The organisational context of project development
- OPO5901 The dynamic context of project delivery
- OPO5902 The planning approach to project management
- OPO5903 The learning approach to project management

Monash minimum: Level A, that is: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or Pearson Test of English (Academic): score of 58 overall with no band lower than 50; or TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or Equivalent approved English test

Progression to further studies
Successful completion of this course may provide a pathway to the Graduate Certificate of Project Management (B4005) subject to satisfying the appropriate entry requirements. Credit may be granted towards other Faculty of Business and Economics postgraduate courses upon successful completion.
