Overview

Learning designers create engaging and impactful educational and professional development experiences for learners of all ages in multiple contexts. They can also be known as instructional designers, educational designers, learning architects, ed-tech innovators, and online training and professional development providers. Learning designers are creative problem solvers with a deep understanding of human learning who collaborate with content experts, educators and media specialists, and who use new technologies to design effective courses. They work across a range of contexts including universities, technical and further education institutions, private enterprise, government agencies, educational technology companies, and not-for-profit organisations. Sometimes they use their creative ideas to become entrepreneurs in the ed-tech and other industries.

Within the Bachelor of Learning Design and Technology, you will engage in hands-on and practical problem-solving tasks. You will work in design teams to creatively produce engaging learning activities and instructional media content, and you will also learn how to apply industry standards and innovative technologies.
