Overview
You will undertake your doctoral studies through the Monash doctoral program. At the core of this program is the completion of a substantial research thesis on an agreed topic under the guidance of a supervisory team. Your research training is further enhanced by professional development activities designed to support you in your academic and professional development.
Upon completion of your doctoral studies at Monash, you will be able to demonstrate that you have successfully designed and executed a research project that makes an original and substantial contribution to your discipline. In your research journey, you will have also acquired the necessary skills and professional attributes to make an immediate and enduring impact on academia, industry, government, or community.

Program requirements
All research students will be required to undertake compulsory training in the following areas:
- Monash Graduate Research Induction (online)
- Respectful research at Monash
- Research Integrity (online)
- Cultural Foundations: Building your knowledge of Australia's First Peoples (online)
- faculty induction, including occupational health and safety (where required).
Students may also be directed or encouraged to attend and make presentations at various forums throughout their enrolment.

Upon successful completion of this course it is expected that you will be able to:

In addition, students may be required to undertake occupational health and safety training, research ethics training or other professional and skills development as relevant to their research project.
