Overview

The Master of Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Engineering is designed to fulfill a growing need for professionals with a broad awareness of advanced manufacturing processes and the materials that they employ. The course outlines how to design for both metallic and non-metallic materials in additive manufacturing, as well as addressing important aspects of modern manufacturing processes such as lean manufacturing. The course is aimed at giving you essential skills and knowledge for the modern workplace.

Course structure

The handbook's description of this structure

The course is structured into two parts: Part A. Advanced expertise and Part B. Materials and manufacturing core units.

Part A. Advanced Expertise
These units are taken within the partner degree at Southeast University Suzhou and recorded as block credit for this course.

Part B. Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Engineering Units
You will identify, interpret and critically appraise current developments and advanced technologies, and apply this knowledge within the materials and manufacturing engineering discipline. You will also complete an independent self-guided research project aimed at advancing the body of knowledge in the discipline.
