The Graduate Certificate of Genome Analytics is a 24 credit point future-focused course that provides expert training in analysing genomes and bioinformatics, developing graduates to meet the growing demand for expertise in the area of Genome Analytics. You will complete a 12 credit point core unit in Genome Curation and an additional 12 credit points from a selection of genomics and bioinformatic units.

Upon successful completion of this course it is expected that you will be able to:

    Use bioinformatics pipelines to appraise variants in genome sequencing data

    Prepare reports consistent with medical reporting guidelines for diagnostic genomics and accreditation requirements for diagnostic laboratories

    Demonstrate knowledge of the ethical issues relating to genomic datasets

    Apply and communicate genetic theory and analysis in a range of contexts

English language

Monash minimum: Level A, that is: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or Pearson Test of English (Academic): score of 58 overall with no band lower than 50; or TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or Equivalent approved English test
