Overview
This unit introduces accounting as a core business function that enables organisations to coordinate operations and achieve their goals. You will develop foundational knowledge and practical skills to interpret and analyse financial information for strategic planning, performance evaluation, and sustainable decision-making. Through practical learning activities in a collaborative environment, you will explore how accounting informs ethical conduct, social responsibility, sustainability and inclusivity in business. These learning experiences will help you to build the confidence and capability to apply accounting insights across diverse organisational contexts.

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study.
