Introduction to accounting analytics
ACO5160
Synopsis
This unit brings together accounting and data analytics that are integral to facilitating decision making. Learning centres on developing skills and expertise in data analytics for accounting and business intelligence. The unit will describe the data analytics cycle with the process practiced in accounting contexts. Through considering how big data, artificial intelligence and robotics are impacting and shaping accounting, financial reporting and auditing, you will develop skills in summarising findings and constructing visualisations that can be shared with stakeholders. In so doing, you will identify questions, download data, and perform testing using common business applications such as Excel and PowerBI, and communicate the results in a hands-on environment.
