Frontiers of data science

This unit will introduce you to current topical research in Data Science applications and methods. Through weekly expert seminars, it will provide broad coverage of the issues, concepts, methods and techniques associated with data science research. You will then develop your independent research and written communication skills through short critical reviews of topics discussed in seminars and a major essay based on one of these topics. Knowledge acquired from this unit will prepare you to conduct and communicate your own research.
