Technology in human biomechanical analysis
AHC5002
Synopsis
This unit aims to provide an advanced level of understanding of human movement from a biomechanical perspective. You will learn about technologies used in human movement analyses and apply them in various scenarios. You will conduct complex human movement pattern analyses using motion capture, force and pressure systems. You will consider the use of emerging technologies such as phone apps, wearable devices and mixed reality, in the context of designing management strategies and rehabilitative devices. You will also explore data governance, ethics and regulatory standards. Through collaborative interdisciplinary case-based discussions, and hands-on practical work, you will gain skills to evaluate human movement, and apply it in clinical rehabilitation and design of medical assistive devices.
