Synopsis
In this unit you will be introduced to the key technological features inherent in digital media's mobility, followed by an examination of theoretical concepts and contextual backgrounds related to global mobility. You will examine how these technological features and various social contexts intertwine, facilitating global mobility and changing human landscapes in global cities. Further throughout the unit, you will explore the dynamics between communication and human mobility across national borders using mobile digital technologies, with a special focus on Southeast Asian contexts.
