Overview
In this practice-based unit you will take part in the production of a short broadcasting group project. No previous media production experience is required, but existing transmedia skills are assumed (for example, use of basic audio/video editing and social media). The unit is devoted to the practical application of the following key areas: producing, interviewing, editing, point of view, sound and image relationships and digital broadcasting. You will be expected to work in small groups to attain a competence in basic aspects of: interviewing for media, audio and video production, production planning, studio management, editing, sound-mixing, delivery over networks and announcing (presenting your material to an audience). Having practical exposure to modern digital production environments is useful for all disciplines and all organisations given the extraordinary access to contemporary audiences.
