Synopsis
In this unit, you will explore two components of interpreting:
- Theory, principles, and techniques of simultaneous interpreting. You will also be introduced to simultaneous interpreting with text.
- The unit focuses on training you in interpreting across a wide array of settings that commonly occur in diplomatic and business interpreting. These include: government policies and ministerial speeches (welfare and employment), economic topics, (environment and international trade) and international affairs (geopolitics). You will acquire content knowledge and specialist language that relate to the contexts of these settings.
