Overview
In this unit you will collaborate in an intensive virtual program with students from Monash and partner universities around the world. You will work in interdisciplinary, cross-cultural teams to produce a virtual exhibition that explores a pressing social justice issue in a global context. Through a combination of expert-led sessions, interactive workshops and collaborative project work, you will engage directly with contemporary social challenges while developing practical skills in creative communication and digital presentation.
Throughout the unit, you will participate in live discussions with thought leaders from academia, the creative sector, and social advocacy organizations, gaining insight into innovative approaches to social change. Hands-on sessions provide opportunities to experiment with creative processes, test ideas, and refine your ability to convey compelling messages that resonate with diverse audiences. Mentorship and peer feedback are central to the learning experience, allowing you to enhance both your project outcomes and your teamwork capabilities in a virtual, international setting.
Designed for students from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds, this unit requires no prior creative or artistic expertise and is accessible to anyone with a passion for social justice and collaboration. By the end of the program, you will have developed the skills to collaborate effectively in virtual, interdisciplinary teams, translate complex social issues into engaging narratives, and contribute meaningfully to global conversations on social change.
