Overview
This unit explores the emergence of a global political economy and the consequences of an increasingly interdependent world. Students will be introduced to the key theoretical approaches and debates in international political economy, and the major developments in 20th and 21st century global political economy. Students will also critically examine the key issues emerging from a globalising political economy, ranging from the globalisation of production to the emergence of new powers from the Global South, and reflect on the future trajectories of international political economy in the era of global uncertainty and change.
