Synopsis
This unit introduces you to the theory and practice of photography. You will explore the history, ethics, aesthetics, and technological trajectory of photography illuminating the compelling debates surrounding the use and practice of photography by the media. Learning from industry professionals, you will also create works of photography from creative through to photojournalism, portraiture, campaign and essay. You will be taught the fundamentals of photographic practice from composition through to lighting to create a professional portfolio of work using industry-standard technologies. The unit is designed for students interested in photography and the media, and those wanting to gain critical photographic skills.
