Synopsis

This unit will consider how screen texts, creators and cultures interface with histories and practices of social justice. It will explore the central function that screens play in enabling and shaping attitudes, processes and messaging that seeks to bring about social and political change. The unit will take a case study approach, with possible areas of focus including the environment, anti-racism, Indigenous rights, linguistic justice, gender equity and anti-capitalism.
