Synopsis
The unit introduces you to the legal and ethical rights and responsibilities of the media. You will examine how the law, ethics, economics, politics, technology and society impact the regulation and accountability of media and journalism. The principles of free speech, and its role in communications practice, are also examined. You will engage with a range of historical and contemporary perspectives and debates on journalism and the media.
