Translation project

APG5883

Synopsis

The project consists of a practical translation component of approximately 6,000-7,000 words, with a substantial critical introduction (written in English) of 2,000-3,000 words. ‘Practical translation’ may be construed broadly and is not limited to a single n interlingual text-based translation and may include a portfolio of multi-modal outputs. You will be grouped into thematic streams for your projects (you will choose your stream at the start of semester) to facilitate peer support and expert guidance by a stream supervisor. Within your stream you may choose your own individual topic that you would like to explore through this project, applying the knowledge and skills you have gained throughout the course. Following an introductory module on research design, you will have fortnightly group sessions to plan, share ideas and finalise your project. There will also be specific tasks to complete for each project milestone to keep you on track and towards the end of semester you will present your project orally to gain detailed feedback before submission.
