Overview
This unit explores the professional resolution of architectural production and building performance through stages of design documentation to offer sustainable regenerative design. This includes integration of construction, structural and environmental systems, and application of communication, analytical and collaboration skills to resolve the design of a medium scale building through construction documentation.

Learning outcomes
When you finish this unit, you should be able to:

Understand the roles and responsibilities of the architect and project consultants and develop skills in integrating construction, structural and environmental systems to design sustainable medium scale buildings;

Integrate knowledge of construction, structural and environmental performance through analysis, collaboration and professional communication;

Resolve the design of a medium scale building through design development and contract documentation to meet regulatory and sustainable performance requirements;

Collaborate and take responsibility for effective group work in response to a brief to develop an integrated set of construction documentation;

Reflect on the influence of integrated design and architectural practice on the time, cost and quality of buildings and their ability to provide positive social, economic and environmental outcomes over their life-cycle;

Conduct research, identify resources for supporting design development and contract documentation, and reflect on knowledge acquired through compilation of a folio.
