Synopsis
Artificial intelligence is already changing the way that we use all manner of digital media, from the way that we work to the way that we play. The role of artificial intelligence in decision-making systems from government to business mean that many of the impacts may remain invisible even as they affect our lives. In this unit you will gain an understanding of artificial intelligence from a social science perspective, the history and representation of artificial intelligence, inform practical ethics of AI use by exploring the opportunities and pitfalls it brings, and consider the parameters around effective use.
