Synopsis
In this unit you will learn fundamental composition techniques and music technology skills through the creation of short original works. You will develop practical skills in digital audio workstations (DAWs) and studio recording while learning to communicate musical ideas through written, verbal, and artistic forms. You will analyse and discuss notable compositions, develop collaborative and performance skills through ensemble participation, and engage in self-reflective practices to build critical awareness of your creative process and its context. Upon completion of the unit, you will have acquired foundational skills in composition, music technology and critical self-reflection.
