Overview
The magnitude and complexity of global challenges requires that we address them in an interdisciplinary way. In this unit, students will explore a specific global issue, such as the water crisis, through a range of disciplinary perspectives, including (but not limited to) commerce, gender studies, history, law, political studies, postcolonial studies and sociology. Collaborating with peers from different Specialisations, students will approach an issue like the water crisis from different angles: for example, the commerce of bottled water, gender and sanitation, indigeneity and waterways. Within this framework, students will build on their skills to critically analyse global issues and how they impact local communities, and work in a diverse team towards developing creative solutions.
