Overview

This unit introduces fundamental concepts in contemporary music practice by requiring students to undertake a technical syllabus that develops knowledge and application of rudimentary skills on their primary instrument or voice. Students are introduced to the use of recording technologies (audio and video) in their practice as well as fundamental self-reflexive skills. Students also establish a personal ePortfolio detailing their learning and performance progress. This introduces students to self-directed practice and continues throughout subsequent contemporary music practice units.
