Synopsis

The unit investigates how the law and public policy should respond to contemporary advances in biomedical technologies. The unit focuses on core topics in bioethics to explore the implications of the concepts of justice, discrimination and responsibility for how access to and uses of biomedical technologies should be regulated. Topics discussed may include: reproductive technologies; organ transplantation; genetic testing; advances in neurosciences; and artificial intelligence in healthcare.
