Overview

The subject provides students with lessons and exercises in the main forms of creative writing: fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction and scriptwriting. Through group on a number of key texts from the Nineteenth to the Twenty-first century, students will examines various key works which may be seen to exemplify, modify, or challenge these stylistic models. Students will be required to reflect both creatively and analytically on their own writing practice in the light of these texts. In the collaborative environment of workshops, students will be encouraged to experiment with a range of techniques, developing their drafting and editorial skills suitable to publication outcomes.
