Synopsis

Comparative politics involves the study and comparison of political systems, institutions, processes, and behaviours. In this unit you will be introduced to some of the key concepts, theories, and analytical approaches central to the study of comparative politics. You will examine some of the political, social, and economic institutions that affect citizens’ lives, along with their behaviours across a range of contexts. You will examine and critically engage with important topics and questions related to political regimes, social movements, contentious politics, and political violence, among others.
