Monash Arts Malaysia: Global city Asia

Drawing from the wide range of disciplines offered by the Faculty of Arts, Monash Arts Malaysia: Global city Asia uses contemporary Malaysian society as a gateway to understanding the challenges and opportunities occasioned by urbanisation in Asia. With an emphasis on the global networks of trade, people and ideas that originate in and pass through Kuala Lumpur, Monash Arts Malaysia: Global City Asia is delivered in intensive mode, combining expert-led excursions and site visits in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor with interactive in-class activities and discussions at Monash University Malaysia’s Sunway campus. During these excursions you’ll explore diverse city spaces and surrounding areas, engage with people and organisations at the forefront of local social and political issues, and develop the skills to understand and interpret the global Asian city through the lens of social science analysis.
