In this unit you will investigate the origins and impacts of discrimination, and strategies to combat it in politics and society. Grounded in political science theory and empirical evidence, you will analyse discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, and socioeconomic status. The unit emphasizes practical methodological skills, teaching you to critically evaluate and utilize rigorous empirical techniques—including, for example, audit studies, field experiments, conjoint analysis, or observational research—to investigate discriminatory practices.
