Twelve credit points of second year Arts units. It is highly recommended that students only take this unit after they have completed two gateway units in Criminology.
Overview
In this unit students will learn about the most common methods for collecting and analysing data to illuminate the practice and impact of crime and justice. It will inform students how to plan, apply critical thinking and undertake fieldwork during the academic research process. Student assessments have been designed to provide opportunities for students to hone their research skills and incorporates data collection, analysis, and the communication of their findings. This unit focuses on core research skills that will be invaluable in any applied justice-related profession, as well as providing a foundation for further academic engagement and highly recommended for those who wish to pursue honours or postgraduate research.
