Requisites

Overview

The unit will consist of two integrated and complementary sections: Culture (50%) and Language (50%).

Culture will consolidate and extend work done on Nineteenth Century Italian history with a focus on the post-Unification period. It will concentrate on the cultural production of that period, as well as on its legacy beyond the Nineteenth Century, with a focus on complex linguistic, literary, and social issues.

Language will consolidate and further develop language acquisition commensurate to the level B2 of the European Framework by working on oral practice, written production and aural comprehension with particular focus on written language and different registers. The thematic areas covered in the culture seminars will form the basis for some reading comprehension, writing and discussion covered in the language component.
