Overview
In this unit, you will examine Australian sport within a global context. You will investigates Australian engagement with international sporting organisations and markets, as well as the role of sport in Australian and international society, including how sport shapes and influences global and local communities. You will also It interrogates the power of business, industry and the media in Australian and international sport, and how their roles are refashioning the sporting landscape. You will explore how Melbourne and other cities have repositioned themselves as sporting centres, positing sports as a major economic driver and cultural influence in the age of spectacle.
