This unit examines the history of the Modern Middle East encompassing both the Arab and the non-Arab worlds. The politics, culture, and development of key countries will be analysed. Regional relationships and conflicts will be examined, including the Gulf Conflict, the Lebanon War, and the Arab-Israel conflict. The implications for wider international politics will also be considered.
