Enrolment rules
Corequisite: This unit is only available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Media Communication (Journalism specialisation only) and associated doubles.
Prerequisite: You must be enrolled in a minor, major, or specialisation in Journalism with a minimum WAM of 70. You must have completed the foundation and one level 2 unit in Journalism to be eligible to enrol in this unit.
Overview
In this unit, you will undertake a professional placement with a host partner organisation in the news media industry. Placement opportunities are negotiated with the Unit Coordinator. While undertaking your placement, you will produce a self-authored work of news media for publication/broadcast as defined by the host partner organisation and the Unit Coordinator, and a reflective report on the process and products of your industry placement. The host partner organisation will appoint a field supervisor for the project although the Chief Examiner remains the principal assessor for the unit.
