Overview

This unit confronts you with the complexity in business decisions. While introductory courses and majors are mono-disciplinary, the reality of – for profit and nonprofit – businesses is very different. Entrepreneurs and managers have to make strategic decisions and run daily operations where complex problems need to be solved that require interactions between people with various specialisations. The unit will provide you with case experience of complex business problems that require an interdisciplinary approach. In teams, you will work on actual and stylised problems.

Learning outcomes

When you finish this unit, you should be able to:

    analyse complex business problems from multi-disciplinary approaches, combining insights from strategy, marketing, finance, management accounting, economics, logistics and law

    demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills and develop a team-orientated approach to work effectively as a team member to produce a professional quality business document and present conclusions.
