Overview
What will your job look like in a world where AI can write reports, analyse data, and automate decisions—and how do you stay ahead of that change?
This unit explores how AI—particularly Generative AI—is transforming industries, organisations, and everyday work. Designed and delivered by Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) at Monash Business School, the unit brings real-world insight directly into the classroom.
You will learn how organisations are applying AI to improve decision-making, streamline operations, and create new value. Through hands-on activities and applied projects, you will build practical skills using AI tools across business functions such as marketing, finance, strategy, and operations.
A distinctive feature of the unit is direct engagement with CDL’s network of entrepreneurs, executives and other experts, who will contribute to teaching, workshops, and feedback. This provides exposure to how AI is being used at the frontier of business, beyond textbooks and case studies.
The unit focuses on helping you:
- understand where AI creates value (and where it doesn’t)
- identify high-impact use cases within organisations
- critically evaluate risks, limitations, and ethical considerations
- apply AI tools to enhance productivity and decision-making.
By the end of the unit, you will be able to confidently apply AI in professional settings and understand how leading organisations are adapting to AI-driven change.
