Synopsis
The unit focuses on demonstrating to you how economic concepts and empirical methods can be applied to key topics in health economics.
You are exposed to teaching staff who are specialists in particular study areas (including international visiting scholars), which enhances your learning experience by adding motivation and research relevance. Embedding experts into the unit also exposes you to a wide range of perspectives and broadens your networks.
Aims of the unit:
(1) You are exposed to key research topics in health economics;
(2) You are taught relevant fundamental economic concepts and empirical methods;
(3) You learn how research is conducted in health economics.
The skills developed in the unit are fundamental to undertaking economic research, and provide an ideal basis for successfully completing a PhD in Health Economics.
