Regulatory compliance in practice
BTF5118
Synopsis
The practical aspects of managing for regulatory compliance (and beyond) is a complex but important aspect of managing any business. Boards want to ensure that compliance practices are managing risks within their appetite. Executives need to manage the often competing priorities of compliance management and operational efficiencies, and recognise when moving beyond compliance and embracing leading practice can offer strategic advantages. Managers and compliance professionals need practical tools to support them and their businesses to navigate these challenges.
With a strong emphasis on those practical tools and guidance, this unit explores the compliance function from an ethical and practical organisational governance perspective, examining the multifaceted nature of regulatory compliance, including local and global considerations. Topics include: measuring organisational maturity; balancing compliance, risk and competitive advantage; building and managing cultures of ethical behaviour; and ensuring accountability and integrity.
