Overview
This unit is an extension to Project A that allows the chosen project to be explored in more depth and to incorporate experimental or theoretical work. The project outcomes are to be summarised in a research paper and oral presentation.

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of 4-6 hours of scheduled learning activities and 6-8 hours independent study per week. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher-directed learning, peer-directed learning and online engagement. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities.
The library workshops are run to increase the students' skills in various aspects, notably on conducting a literature review, proposal and scientific paper writing, synthesising structured ideas from scientific papers
Students are meant to further develop their research project from CIV4210 and to go further in-depth on the topic.
