Synopsis
This unit introduced you to the systematic collection, interpretation and presentation of transport and traffic data. The systems approach to survey design is introduced and the trade-offs involved in the allocation of survey resources are examined. The unit is designed to provide a rigorous and practical coverage of the collection of transport and traffic data using traditional traffic and travel surveys as well as through advanced technologies. The unit discusses new and innovative techniques for measuring and monitoring the performance of transportation systems and evaluating changes in demographic and urban travel characteristics. You will be introduced to advanced transportation data collection technologies and will learn how to manage, analyse, and visualize large and advanced datasets.
