Learning outcomes

When you finish this unit, you should be able to:

  1. 1

compile time series data on precipitation and evapotranspiration.

  2. 2

model water flow processes in the unsaturated zone.

  3. 3

understand the process that control runoff and stream flow.

  4. 4

    develop a conceptual hydrological model.

  5. 5

apply hydrological models to real-world problems.

  6. 6

work both independently and collaboratively on complex surface water problems.

The minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of 3-6 hours of scheduled learning activities and 6-9 hours of independent study per week. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher-directed learning, peer-directed learning and online engagement. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities.

You will review up to 2 hours of pre-recorded lecture materials each week and do a quiz on it

You will work on computer-based practice class questions and real-world consulting type assignment questions,

You will be engaged in an interactive lecture to discuss the quiz, work on past exam questions, and go through additional examples
