Synopsis
This unit will examine the experience of the Australian economy past, present, and future to better understand the development of the country’s economy and its place in the world via examining the changing economic structures, resource booms, trade relations, geopolitical challenges, the environment and sustainability, and the labour market. It will analyse the integration of Australia into the global economy, the changing structure of the domestic economy and its industries, and the impacts on economic growth including the effects of path dependent factors on current economic policy. The unit will also consider factors that will impact Australian economy into the future.
