Synopsis

In this unit, you will be introduced to the companion concepts of creativity and criticality. You will be invited to reflect on, and reconsider, your existing beliefs about the nature of creativity and criticality. You will learn about the role of critical and creative thinking in student learning, strategies for cultivating creative and critical dispositions among learners, and the influence of creative teaching on student learning. As a secondary teaching specialist, you will explore the concept of critical and creative thinking as both a general capability and its application across a range of secondary teaching methods. In this unit, you will achieve the knowledge outcomes about teaching creativity and criticality by engaging as learners with a range of critical and creative pedagogical practices.
