Synopsis
This unit focuses on educational leadership as defined in policy and enacted in practice. It will examine the concept of leadership in the development and leading of high-quality educational programs for all children. You will learn to engage with and develop an understanding of the policy context in relation to leadership in early childhood. Examining policy through a leadership lens you will develop an understanding of how policies shape and influence the lives of children, families and communities and the role of leadership in this process. The role of advocacy for children, families and the profession as leadership work will be prioritised including attention to the profession’s commitment to reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.
