Interacting with learners
EDF3404
Synopsis
A significant element in the success of many learning designs is the quality and effectiveness of the synchronous learning sessions, including the interactions between learners and their educators. A synchronous learning session has many moving parts that a learning designer must be aware of, and design for, to maximise learning opportunities for students. Often learning designers find themselves in educational roles or providing detailed planning and resources for educators. This unit develops your skills to design and implement an effective synchronous learning session.
You will learn training/classroom management skills and gain a clearer perspective on how to design for synchronous sessions, whether online, onsite, or in hybrid modes. The unit will explore theories of human interaction, frameworks for group settings, and other concepts which affect how humans behave in a synchronous setting. You will utilise this information to devise strategies, activities, and processes which address these needs and support trainers, educators and teachers in their experiences with implementing your learning designs.
