Overview

This unit prepares you to teach senior secondary curriculum in physical education. The unit builds on curriculum and discipline knowledge developed within previous units in the course. You will have the opportunity to critically reflect on and evaluate your teaching experiences thus far. You will also develop and apply pedagogical content knowledge and skills relevant to teaching senior secondary physical education. With reference to national and international senior secondary curriculum documents, you will have the opportunity to develop, implement and apply units of work that demonstrate constructive alignment across curriculum, pedagogy and assessment. You will be recognised as a valuable member of the teaching profession, with a commitment to life-long learning, and will develop competency in planning and providing professional experiences for peers. This unit will comprise an element of co-construction whereby your needs will inform what is taught to some degree.
